Why are most plants green?

The color green is a calming, relieves the eye and calms the emotions. The plant kingdom provides us abundantly.

This color is due to a pigment called chlorophyll, a molecule with a central atom of magnesium. This pigment has properties that help maintain good health for this reason food and raw green vegetables is beneficial.

Chlorophyll is the primary responsibility photosynthesis, a process that transforms light energy into chemical energy to tap water (H2O) to capture the plants by their roots and carbon dioxide (CO2) that enters a leaf pores called stomata possess and transform into a food called glucose. (C6H12O6) which in turn form other substances and food reserves for the plant to retain its life.

Glucose is the fuel that living things need to stay in condition, the plants make their own food (autotrophs) through this ingenious process of photosynthesis. The byproduct of this production is oxygen is expelled to the outside and takes advantage of the animal kingdom.

The laboratory plant is hosted on their leaves, one of the most important parts of the plant, since in these substances are produced requires for its subsistence.

Gas exchange (breathing) to the outside is through the stomata, also plants remove water, ie sweat and it generates in your body, a pressure difference that allows the entry of water by osmosis through their roots and climb up the stem.

The leaves have different shapes, but the laminar structure favors the functions they perform within them.

photosynthesis Let

contains the word etymologically photosynthesis and its significance:

Photo meaning light

Summary which means product development.

words, it is the process by which light serves as a means to manufacture the products needed for life to develop.

This process not only benefits the plant kingdom but serves to keep the planet biome life because oxygen is a byproduct of gases important to the planet's animal life.

Photosynthesis occurs in leaves in some organs called chloroplasts that convert light into small batteries that generate electricity, ie the transport of electrons, which is used in the synthesis of a molecule called ATP (adenosine triphosphate) which happens to be the chemical energy needed to sustain plant metabolism that is the whole chemical reactions that sustain life of the plant.

The process has two stages: a light where you need the sunlight to go form ATP molecules, so they can be used in dark stage where the presence of light is not essential . In this phase are organic compounds (sugars) that the plant needs for food and to sustain their structure.

Plant seeds in the mineral kingdom biological compounds chemically generated from minerals that provide the soil, water and air.

The plant is a life forming from simple elements. In any laboratory created by man can reproduce is that this small factory is capable of.
